Ponya Bands Bamboo-Lined Sweatbands were our first product, created out of a need for a high-quality sweatband that looked cute, too.
Our founder, Judy, wanted to find a sweatband that would both absorb and wick sweat for long enough to get her through an entire spinning class. It didn’t take long for her to realize that most sweatbands, although absorbent, quickly reached saturation and did not keep the sweat out of her eyes. As she began talking to other runners and workout enthusiasts, she learned that there were many others experiencing this same frustration. The more information she gathered the more motivated she was to create a sweatband that really worked.
Out of this, both Ponya and our Bamboo-Lined Sweatbands were born! So, what makes the Bamboo-Lined Sweatband so special? It's all about our amazing products and high-quality construction.
All of our Bamboo-Lined Sweatbands are made with two fabrics - stretchy spandex material on the exterior, and absorbent bamboo fabric on the interior. The bamboo works to absorb your sweat, and the spandex takes it a step further by wicking the sweat to the outside of the band, where it quickly evaporates. Similar to bathing suit material, it's the job of spandex to stay dry and keep you comfortable.
Every one of our bands is handmade by a team of sewers in Louisville, Kentucky. With such high-quality fabric, it's important to have equally high-quality construction. Look at that gorgeous stitching.
